FiberCheck is designed with privacy in mind. We use anonymous device authentication and collect minimal information to provide our AI fabric analysis service.

We believe in transparency and your right to understand how your information is handled. This policy covers all aspects of our data practices and your rights as a user.

Information We Collect

FiberCheck is designed with privacy in mind. We use anonymous device authentication and collect minimal information to provide our AI fabric analysis service.

• Clothing label photos you upload for AI fabric analysis
• Anonymous device ID (no email or personal information required)
• App usage data to improve our AI recommendations and the app. These analytics events are linked to your device ID, and include the screens you open and actions you take, your device model, operating system, language, time zone, screen size and app version, and your approximate location derived from your IP address
• Technical device information for app functionality
• Generated fabric analyses and your scan history
• Push notification data: your device ID and language and, if you allow notifications, a push token
• Advertising data collected by Google AdMob when ads are shown (see "Advertising and Your Choices")

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide AI-powered fabric analysis services and improve our technology.

• Process clothing label photos through OpenAI for fabric analysis
• Store your generated analyses in Firebase for easy access
• Improve our AI models and fabric analysis algorithms
• Manage your subscription through RevenueCat (if applicable)
• Provide technical support and app functionality
• Show ads in the app
• Send you push notifications you have allowed

Anonymous Authentication

FiberCheck uses Firebase Authentication with a sign-in token that our server issues for your device ID. This means you don't need to provide an email address or create a traditional account. Your privacy is protected while still allowing you to save and access your analyses.

Data Security & Storage

Your data is protected by industry-standard security measures:

• Photos are uploaded over an encrypted connection to Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3) and delivered through Amazon CloudFront
• Your scan history and account record are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, part of Firebase
• OpenAI processes images according to their privacy and security standards
• We do not sell your personal information. Your photos and scan results are not part of any ad request. Limited device and ad-interaction data is shared with Google when ads are shown, as described under "Advertising and Your Choices" below

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data only in these circumstances:

• Service Providers: Trusted partners who help us operate the app (listed under "Service Providers We Use" below), including advertising
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with continued privacy protection)

Service Providers We Use

• OpenAI: receives the clothing label photo you scan and returns the fabric analysis (privacy policy)
• Amazon Web Services: Amazon S3 stores the photos you upload and Amazon CloudFront delivers them (privacy notice)
• Google Firebase: Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore store your sign-in, account record, credits and scan history (privacy information)
• Railway: runs the FiberCheck server that your device talks to (privacy policy)
• RevenueCat: receives your device ID, purchase and subscription status and IP address to manage Premium and credit purchases (privacy policy)
• OneSignal: receives your push token, device ID, language and device details to deliver push notifications (privacy policy)
• Litemetrics: an analytics service we run ourselves at metrics.codixus.com, which receives the usage data described above, linked to your device ID, in the app, and page views on this website
• Expo (EAS Update): receives your IP address and basic device and app version information when the app checks for updates (privacy policy)
• Netlify: hosts this website and sees the IP address of each request (privacy policy)
• Google Analytics 4: runs on every page of this website. It sets cookies in your browser and receives the pages you visit, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser, device and operating system, and how you interact with the site. Google handles this data under the policies linked under "Advertising and Your Choices", and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
• TikTok Pixel: runs on every page of this website. It sets a cookie (_ttp) and sends TikTok the pages you visit, your IP address and browser and device information, which TikTok uses to measure, improve and target advertising, and may link to your TikTok account (privacy policy)
• Google AdMob: serves the ads in the app (see "Advertising and Your Choices")

Advertising and Your Choices

FiberCheck shows ads served by Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. You see banner ads on the Home, History and Fabrics screens, and on the Home screen you can choose to watch a rewarded video ad to earn a free scan credit. Premium subscribers do not see the Home banner or the rewarded video button, but Premium subscribers still see banner ads on the History and Fabrics screens.

FiberCheck asks Google for non-personalized ads only. These ads are not chosen using your interests or your activity in other apps and websites.

When ads load and are shown, Google AdMob collects data from your device for ad delivery, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention, even when ads are non-personalized:

• Your advertising ID, where your device provides one, and other device identifiers
• Your IP address, which Google may use to estimate your general location
• Technical and diagnostic information about your device, the app and the ad software
• How you interact with ads, such as views and taps

When the app opens, Google's consent tool checks whether consent is needed. Where required (for example in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland), it shows Google's consent form. Google stores your choice on your device, and the tool contacts Google when the app opens, so Google receives your IP address with that request. FiberCheck does not wait for your answer before it starts loading ads, so Google can receive an ad request, including your IP address and device information, before you have answered the form.

Declining does not turn ads off. If you choose "Do not consent", Google can still serve limited ads in FiberCheck. To change your choice, uninstall and reinstall FiberCheck, or on Android clear the app's storage in your device settings. The consent form is then shown again where it applies to you. The Google consent tool and ad software start every time the app opens, including for Premium subscribers.

For rewarded ads, the app also sends Google an identifier for your device (on Android the Android ID, on iOS a random ID the app creates) and a timestamp label. Google passes these to our server so that we can verify the reward and add the credit to your account. This is not your advertising ID. Your photos and scan results are never part of an ad request.

You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings. You can also contact us at info@codixus.com.

Data Retention

Your account record and scan history are kept for as long as your account exists, or until you delete a scan. The photos you upload are kept in our storage until you ask us to delete them, because deleting a scan in the app does not remove its photo. Analytics events in Litemetrics are linked to your device ID and kept for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or until you ask us to delete them. Data held by the providers listed under "Service Providers We Use" is kept under their own policies. Your consent choice is stored on your device. To ask us to delete your photos or any other data, write to info@codixus.com.

Your Rights

You have control over your data:

• Delete a scan from within the app. This removes the analysis from your history, but the photo you uploaded stays in our storage until you ask us to delete it
• Contact us at info@codixus.com to request deletion of your photos and the rest of your data
• Opt out of data collection by uninstalling the app

Children's Privacy

FiberCheck is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your privacy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of FiberCheck after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
